Gunmen kidnapped seven of the eight Mexican tourists on a highway leading to the Pacific coast resort town of Acapulco in southern Mexico, police said Saturday.

The police said the eighth tourist managed to escape and informed the police of the incident.

According to the man, gunmen kidnapped the tourists on the highway about 100 km north of Acapulco. Police found blood stains and 37 bullet holes in the victims' car.

So far, no individuals or groups have claimed responsibility for the abduction
