U.S. President George W. Bush will welcome his Philippine counterpart Gloria Arroyo to the White House on June 24, the White House said in a statement on Thursday.
Bush will discuss with Arroyo about bilateral cooperation on a broad range of areas, including ASEAN, counter-terrorism, defense reform, food security, and regional economic integration, the statement said.
"The U.S.-Philippines alliance is grounded firmly in shared values of freedom, security and prosperity, and the president looks forward to discussions with President Arroyo on ways to enhance further our strong partnership and support for democracy in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond," the statement added.
The Philippines has been a strong ally of the United States in Southeast Asia.
