A total of 30 million U.S. dollars have been added to Barack Obama's campaign fund for his bid for the White House, his campaign said on Friday.
Obama's figure in June has surpassed that of his Republican presidential candidate John McCain, 22 million dollars, showing his strong momentum months before their showdown in the November elections.
Obama broke all records for the U.S. presidential fundraising, collecting 287 million dollars during the campaign, partly because he motivated grassroots voters through internet donation.
His best month in fundraising so far was February when he took in 55 million dollars but his financing pace was slowed down in May at only 21.9 million dollars.
He has announced last month that he would bypass the public financing system with 84 million dollars in fund and limits on spending.
Recently, he has sped up fundraising efforts, part of which would be used to help pay off debts of his former rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Source:Xinhua
