Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe met Friday in the Aumay refinery in Paraguana, state of Falcon (north west), Venezuela.
Previously showing his will to reestablish diplomatic ties with Venezuela, Uribe is in Venezuela on an official visit with the aim of normalizing ties.
Uribe visited Aumay, the world biggest refinery, accompanied by Chavez.
Chavez said that this meeting "hold an intention for closer ties, cooperation, peace and integration" of Latin America, adding that Venezuela is an integration factor with the Colombian people.
Diplomatic ties between both countries went worse after Colombian army attacked a FARC's camp in Ecuadorian territory on March 1. Then Chavez ordered Venezuelan Army to station along its border with Colombia to protect it. Source:Xinhua
