Chile and Turkey ended the second round of negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on Friday in Turkey's capital Ankara, the Chilean Foreign Ministry said.

Carlos Furche, general director of the International Economic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, said the three-day negotiations were positive.

"Particularly, the Turkish market is attractive for fishery, forestry, agriculture and livestock sector, while Turkey is interested in automobile, textile and light industry," Furche said.

"It's very important to integrate the private sectors in this process, because they will take advantage of the FTA," Furche said.

Turkey is a big potential market to the Chilean exports. In 2007, Chilean exports reached 460 million U.S. dollars, up 12 percent from the previous year.
