U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will attend the meetings the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Singapore next week, the State Department said Monday.
In addition to attending the ASEAN meetings scheduled for July 23-24, Rice will also visit Australia and New Zealand, Apia, Somoa and Hawaii, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. They have a combined population of nearly 600 million, and together constitute the fourth largest export market for the United States.
