Bolivian President Evo Morales offered Monday his condolences to the relatives of the four Venezuelan soldiers and one Bolivian soldier killed in a helicopter accident in Bolivia.

The helicopter was a gift from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Morales. It crashed Sunday in the central province of Cochabamba. Morales was not traveling aboard the helicopter at the time.

According to La Paz, administrative capital of Bolivia, Morales said, "Brothers and sisters really, (we express) a bitter pain of Government Palace for the families of those who died in the helicopter accident."

The Bolivian government also has offered condolences to Chavez for the deaths of the four Venezuelan soldiers.

A Bolivian Air Force Aerial Accident Investigative Council team has arrived at the accident site to find out the cause of the crash.

The helicopter had been used Sunday by Morales, when he visited the district of Huanuni in the province of Oruro. He was set to use the helicopter again Monday.

The crashed helicopter was one of the two helicopters given by Chavez to Morales.
