U.S. President George W. Bush met with Prime Minister Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates at Camp David, his presidential retreat on Sunday.
Al-Maktoum, also the ruler of Dubai, "is an important figure in the emirates and an influential figure around the world," U.S. National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said.
Bush and the UAE leader reportedly discussed Iraq war, Iran's nuclear issue, anti-terrorism and surging oil prices.
Bush visited the UAE during a Mideast trip in January. Prior to his meeting with al-Maktoum, Bush welcomed a visit to Camp David in late June by Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, another in the UAE's string of seven semiautonomous emirates.
