Senior officials of the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) are due to meet later Friday in New York over the verification of Pyongyang's nuclear program.
Sung Kim, director of the Korean desk of the U.S. State Department, will meet his DPRK counterpart in a bid to get Pyongyang to agree to measures to verify its declaration of nuclear program, State Department spokesman Robert Wood said.
The DPRK handed over its long-awaited nuclear declaration on June 26. The United States insists that the DPRK must agree to verify its nuclear program before being delisted from terrorism blacklist.
