An Air France passenger jet exited the runway Tuesday when it was landing at the Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Canada's eastern city of Montreal, airport officials said.

There were no injuries in the incident.

The plane, which started its journey from Paris to Canada, ended up with the nose wheel parked on the grass alongside the tarmac, Canadian Television (CTV) reported.

Emergency vehicles raced to the site of the landing but there were no problems. Passengers were evacuated from the aircraft safely,

Canada's federal Transportation Safety Board will be asked to investigate the cause of the incident, airport officials said.
