As the 7th anniversary of 9/11 terror attacks looms in, U.S. Republican presidential hopeful John McCain vowed to catch the enemy No. 1 of America.

Appearing in ABC News from St. Paul in the U.S. state of Minnesota, the Arizona senator said if elected president, he will catch al Qaida leader Osama bin Laden because he knew how to do it.

McCain said his national security credentials will help him to accomplish the task.

"I understand and I have the knowledge and the background and the experience to make the right judgments," he added.

McCain also hinted that his Democratic opponent, Illinois senator Barack Obama, is not up for the task because lacking foreign and military experience.

Obama had accused McCain of mistakenly focusing on Iraq while wasting time to catch bin Laden.

U.S. authorities believe bin Laden and al Qaida are responsible for the 9/11 attacks. As the anniversary is coming, Obama and McCain are expected to take anti-terrorism as a focal issue.
