The United States will hold a meeting of U.S. and Georgian business leaders in Tbilisi to help Georgia's economy recover from the conflicts with Russia, U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez said Monday.
"While our two-way trade of nearly 580 million dollars is modest, we believe it can be expanded substantially with additional effort," Gutierrez said at an event held by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The United States wants to help restore the investors' confidence in Georgia, Gutierrez added.
After the military conflicts between Russia and Georgia, the United States has announced that it will provide an aid of over 1 billion dollars to its ally Georgia.
Meanwhile, the United States has condemned Russia's military actions in Georgia and urged Russia to withdraw from Georgia.
