The Mexican government Tuesday offered to help Cuba with property and electrical network reconstruction after the devastating "Ike" hurricane.
Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa said Cuba has requested support in power grid and house reconstruction, as well as food supplies.
Espinosa said, "We are having talks with them to know when is the best moment to send our support." She added that Mexico has been in contact with the Cuban government since the first hurricane "Gustav" arrived.
"Ike" hit western Cuba Tuesday morning before leaving the island nation in the afternoon after causing four deaths, floods and great damage to towns and villages.
Cuba received humanitarian aid from countries like Spain and East Timor last week after "Gustav" left thousands injured and caused considerable material damage.
