Brazilian Foreign minister Celso Amorim said on Tuesday the recent emergency summit of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) has proved the regional commitment toward Bolivia.
"The Union of South American Nations wants to support the democracy in Bolivia and the government of President Evo Morales," Amorim said.
The 12-nation bloc called for an end to the illegal actions of violence and occupation of public buildings in the northern province Pando, he said.
"It's necessary to reactivate the dialogue between the Bolivian government and the opposition group," said the minister.
Amorim added that Brazil shared the same stance with other South American leaders over the recent unrest in Bolivia.
South American leaders participated in an emergency Unasur summit on Monday in Chile's Santiago to discuss the situation in Bolivia and came up with a regional contingency plan.
Violent clashes in Bolivia between supporters of Morales and anti-government protesters have already left dozens of people dead, and many more have been injured or missing.
On Sept. 11, at least 30 pro-Morales peasants were killed during a violent clashes caused by anti-government protests in Pando.
