The Conservatives continue to lose support as Canada's Oct. 14 election looms near, as a new poll Thursday put the party at only 36 percent, down from the 41 percent at the beginning of the campaign.
The poll, which was done by Canadian Press and Harris Decima over the last four days, suggests that the Conservatives are two percentage points down from another poll released Wednesday.
The Liberals, whose support has been relatively stable during the campaign, got 27 percent, one percentage point down from Wednesday's poll.
The new poll shows that both New Democratic Party and the Green Party were gaining support, with the former at 16 percent and the later at 11, both up a point.
The Bloc Quebecois remained at eight percent.
The Conservatives came roaring out of the gate with 41 percent of respondents' support at the outset of the campaign, raising speculations that they could win a majority government in next month's election.
The poll suggests that many people's conclusion about a Conservative win, and potentially a large win, has become less certain, said Harris-Decima president Bruce Anderson.
