Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store will lead the meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for Assistance to the Palestinians (AHLC) in New York on Monday, according to a statement released by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry on Friday.
The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss how the international donor community, in cooperation with Israel and the Palestinian authorities, can help provide better conditions for the Palestinian economic growth and the building of a Palestinian state, the ministry said.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will host the meeting. In addition to Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General Aaron Abramovich, the meeting will also be attended by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, EU Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, EU High Representative Javier Solana, Quartet Representative Tony Blair and other members of the donor group, the ministry added.
Norway is the chairman of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for Assistance to the Palestinians.
