Peruvian Justice Minister Rosario Fernandez inaugurated on Thursday an anti-corruption workshop to be attended by delegates from 21 economies from the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

Fernandez said Peru is striving to maintain the political stability after a long period "when the corruption was present at all the power spheres."

The "Anti-corruption workshop to ease the international cooperation on the recovering of assets" is part of the prior meetings to the APEC Dignitaries Summit to be held in November in Peru.

Fernandez said that the measures used in Peru are against people involved in illegal acts, and the repatriation and blocking of the money taken from the nation.

Argentine Guillermo Jorge delivered a speech on "Discovering corruption acts and national investigation", and World Bank's expert Rick Messick made a presentation on "Investigation of assets track at international level."

Other participants including Peruvian former Prosecutor on Anti-corruption Luis Vargas, and Peruvian Special Prosecutor of State Carlos Briceno.
