Mexican police found the bodies of eight murdered victims Thursday in the city of Tijuana borders the United States.

The victims were all shot to death. A police officer who demanded anonymity said one of them was handcuffed and had a mutilated finger. More than 60 bullets shells were found nearby.

More than 30 were murdered in Tijuana during the previous week, with 12 showing signs of torture, said the police.

Tijuana is one of the most violent cities in Mexico where traffickers of drug, weapons and human as well as kidnapping gangs are held responsible for most of the violent crimes.

According to local press, at least 3,400 have been killed this year in Mexico, with all the cases related to organized crime.
