Visiting Sierra Lenone's Foreign Minister Zainab Hawa Bangura on Thursday met with Cuba Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration Minister Marta Lomas on bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Bangura expressed her appreciation over the civil cooperation of Cuba with Cuba.

Bangura said her compatriots have studied in Cuba while 32 Cuban doctors are working in Sierra Leone to help with the local health service.

She recalled that when she took office as foreign minister, Sierra Lenone's President Ernest Bai Koroma gave her a task to enhance bilateral ties with Cuba, "I'm here to share experience on what we can do together," she said.

Lomas said the forthcoming visit to Cuba by President Koroma is important for the two nations.
