A woman living near Los Angeles killed herself as she was about to be evicted from her foreclosed home in the latest example that how badly the current credit crunch is impacting Americans' lives, according to a newspaper report Wednesday.
Wanda Dunn, 53, may have set her home on fire before killing herself Monday, the same day she was to be evicted from her home in Pasadena, the Daily News reported.
Police said the foreclosure may have prompted Dunn to burn the home and kill herself. The woman was found in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head, and a gun was found nearby before her home was discovered burning Monday morning.
The death comes about two weeks after an unemployed financial manager in a Los Angeles suburb killed himself and his five family members, leaving behind a suicide note that cited money problems.
