Official among dead in Mexico plane crash

A state-level official has been identified as one of the three people killed in a light airplane crash in Mexico's mountainous northern region Friday.

Nabor Garcia Aguirre, the finance secretary of Baja California Sur state, died along with the pilot and copilot when their Cessnacame down shortly after taking off from an airport in the country's third largest city of Monterrey.

According to Mexico's Civil Aviation Department, the cause of the crash is still being investigated. However, authorities said the aircraft came down amid heavy fog.
