Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum will issue a declaration on Sunday after their two-day meeting in the Peruvian capital.
In the second day of the summit, the leaders from the 21 APEC member economies are expected to discuss a draft report prepared by APEC ministers earlier this week, which will serve as the base for the Lima declaration, according to a press release issued by the organizing committee of the APEC Leaders' Week.
The document is expected to contain "transcendental conclusions and commitments" about 12 forum major issues, including the global financial crisis, trade liberalization, regional cooperation, food security, anti-corruption, support for the Doha Round, and climate change.
On Saturday, the leaders issued a special statement on the global financial crisis, which was not initially included in the forum agenda. Nineteen leaders from the APEC member economies attended the summit, part of the Leaders' Week on Nov. 16-23. Source: Xinhua
