There were no injuries when a small passenger plane slid off the runway and ran into deep snow on Monday at an airport in eastern Canada.

The Air Canada Jazz airplane slid off the runway after touching down at the airport in the city of North Bay in Ontario Province, reports reaching here said.

Police say the Dash-8 aircraft, with 15 passengers and three crew members on board, slid about 150 meters into the snow at the end of the runway.

Emergency personnel helped the passengers to get off the plane after a path was cleared through the deep snow.

The tarmac was extremely icy and it was very foggy at the time of the incident, which occurred just after midnight.
