Cuba and Sri Lanka on Tuesday hailed the good relations between the two countries upon the closing of a bilateral meeting.
Cuban Vice Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said the exchange between both countries was "excellent."
Rodriguez thanked Sri Lanka for its support to Cuba during hurricanes that whipped the island three months ago.
Visiting Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Hussein Bhaila, for his part, thanked Cuba for its aid to Sri Lanka in December 2004, when a devastating tsunami hit the country.
Bhaila arrived here Saturday to attend the meetings, during which the two sides discussed trade, specially the export of Cuban biotechnology products to Sri Lanka, and the transfer to Cuba of Sri Lankan technology related to the coconut industry.
The control of tropical sicknesses and the prevention of natural disasters were also discussed.
