The Embassy of the United States in Brasilia received on Tuesday an envelope containing white powder, Brazil's Federal Police Department confirmed.

Police have ruled out the substance is an explosive, yet tests have not completed, according to state-owned Agencia Brasil.

The suspected mail was identified by employees of the security service responsible for analyzing all correspondence in the U.S. Embassy.
