Two men were killed in avalanches in 24 hours at a popular skiing resort in western Canada's British Columbia province, reports reaching here said Friday.
A snowboarder was killed Thursday in one of two avalanches on Whistler Mountain in the popular Whistler Blackcomb resort in British Columbia (B.C.) province, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said.
On Wednesday, a 37-year-old man was killed in an avalanche on Blackcomb Mountain in the same area.
Police warned people to stay within limits as both victims were in areas that had been marked off-limits due to dangerous snow conditions.
The accidents happened one week after eight were killed in avalanches in the same province. Four avalanches struck on a group of snow mobilers last Wednesday in the southeast corner of B.C.'s Rocky Mountains, killing eight of them.
