Argentine President Cristina Fernandez has cancelled her visit to India as India's prime minister will have an emergency coronary bypass surgery, the Argentine Foreign Ministry said Friday.

Manmohan Singh, 76, will have the surgery Saturday so he is not in the condition of meeting with Fernandez, the ministry said.

Last week, the Argentine president canceled her visit to South Korea due to her doctor's advice that consecutive visits to India and South Korea, which are totally different in weather conditions, would do harm to her health.

The Foreign Ministry did not say whether Fernandez would reschedule both visits.
