Low-level explosive shatters New York storefront

Police investigators search the site of a bombing outside a Starbucks on New York's Upper East Side May 25, 2009. A low-level explosive went off early Monday morning, outside a Starbucks in Manhatthan of New York City, said New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

According to local TV channel NY1, the blast went off at around 3:30 a.m. local time at the corner of 92nd Street and 3rd Avenue.

No one was injured.

The explosive took out windows at a Starbucks on the corner.

Several people in the apartments above the coffee shop were reportedly evacuated, but have since been let back into their homes.

"We're going to analyze the type of explosive that's been used. As I say, it's been described by our bomb experts as a low explosive," Kelly was cited as saying.

Police will be checking surveillance cameras to get more information, Keylly said.

There were reportedly no notes, or advance calls about the blast.
