Brazilian authorities said Sunday that 11 bodies have been identified from the 50 retrieved from the Air France Flight 447 which crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on June 1.

Ten bodies were identified as Brazilian, including five men and five women, and another one as a foreign male, said a statement issued by a task force made up of Brazil's federal police and the Public Safety Department of the northeastern state of Pernambuco.

The nationality of the non-Brazilian victim was not revealed.

Authorities have notified the families of the Brazilian victims and the embassy of the foreigner, the statement said.

According to the Chinese Embassy's spokesman He Yuan, the Chinese Embassy in Brazil had got no phone calls on the victim identification.

According to the statement, Brazil has not got all the identity information of some foreign victims, adding that it will take some time to identify more victims.

Air France Flight 447, an Airbus A330-200, went missing when traveling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris with 228 people on board in the early hours of June 1.

So far 50 bodies have been recovered and investigators are still looking for the cause of the tragedy.
