Roberto Micheletti, who took power on Sunday after a Sunday military coup, swore in the first ministers who will join him during the six months of his planned interim presidency.

Micheletti swore in Enrique Ortez Colindres as the new foreign minister, Gabriella Nunez as the new finance minister, Lionel Sevilla as the new defense minister, Nicholas Garcia as the new labor minister, Norman Ochoa as the new natural resources minister and Desire Rosales as the new science and technology minister.

The ceremony comes a day after President Manuel Zelaya was seized and put on a plane to Costa Rica by hooded soldiers who broke into Zelaya's official residence. The coup has been condemned by Latin American presidents, the United States, the European Union and international bodies including the United Nations and the Organization of American States.
