A strong quake rocked the Panama City at 1:49 a.m. local time Saturday (0649 GMT), but there are no reports of casualties so far.
The quake, which the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said was measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, was felt strongly in the capital city.
On May 8, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shook the Panamanian province of Chiriqui, which borders Costa Rica. The tremor was also felt in the Panamanian provinces of Veraguas and Bocas del Toro and in Costa Rica, according to the Institute of Geo-Science from the University of Panama.
