A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 shook Panama late Sunday night and can be felt in the capital city. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The temblor, the second to hit the country in two days, struck at 11:10 p.m. local time (0410 GMT, Monday) and was centered on an area 95 km northeast of Panama City, the U.S. Geological Survey said on its website.
Residents in the capital city also felt two aftershocks.
A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6 struck the same location early Friday morning, without causing any casualties or damage.
