European Union (EU) foreign and security chief Javier Solana on Thursday condemned the terrorist attack in the Afghan capital of Kabul.
"I strongly condemn this horrific act of terrorism," said Solana in a statement.
He said he was "greatly saddened and shocked" by bomb attack on Thursday morning in Kabul. "The perpetrators will not succeed in destabilizing Afghan society and undermining international efforts in Afghanistan. The EU will continue to support Afghanistan and the Afghan people," he added.
The suicide car bomb attack, which killed 17 people, appears to have targeted the Afghan Interior Ministry, but has also inflicted damage on many international representations, including those of the EU, noted Solana.
