Canadian PM to visit South Korea in December

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will visit the Republic of Korea (South Korea) from December 6 to 7.
"Canada's relationship with the Republic of Korea is grounded in longstanding historical ties and many years of strong political and economic cooperation", Harper said in a press release.
Four Canadian ministers have visited South Korea since 2006.
South Korea is Canada's seventh largest trading partner, with two-way merchandise trade valued at 9.8 billion Canadian dollars (8.8 billion U. S. dollars) in 2008. There are an estimated 98,000Canadians of South Korean origin and more than 27,000 South Korean students studying in Canada.
South Korea will be co-chairing the G20 Summit taking place in Canada in June 2010.
