Peru expresses condolences and solidarity to Chile after earthquake

"I wish to express, on behalf of the government and people of Peru, our sincere condolences and solidarity to the people and government of Chile", Garcia said.
"In these difficult times, Peru promises to provide cooperation that may be required by your administration," he said.
Garcia has declared Saturday a day of national mourning.
An 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Chile on early Saturday morning, killing 214 people so far and causing severe infrastructure damage.
According to media reports, the death toll includes at least two Peruvian women.
