One dead in crash of small plane in upstate New York

A small private plane crashed and burst into flames shortly after takeoff on Thursday in the township of LaGrange in the U.S. state of New York, killing the sole occupant, the local sheriff's office said.
The twin-engine Cessna took off from Sky Acres Airport in nearby LaGrangeville and crashed moments later at a wooded area just off Skidmore Road, Lt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County sheriff's office told Xinhua. He said the crash occurred about 11: 55 a.m., EDT.
LaGrange is about 120 kilometers north of New York City.
The identity of the fatality, a man, was not released.
Watterson said the accident, which occurred in good weather, was under investigation.
