Cuban state media on Saturday reported that Fidel Castro had traveled to a town west of Havana to participate in a memorial service for the fallen fighters in the country's revolution.
It was the first time state media reported the former Cuban leader leaving the capital city since he underwent intestinal surgery in July 2006 and shifted power to his brother Raul.
