Mexican police on Monday found six corpses inside a SUV car near the southern city of Chilpancingo in Guerrero State.

The Public Security Department of Guerrero said the vehicle, which was parked two streets away from the Municipal Palace, had been stolen hours before the bodies were found.

The police received an anonymous call about the vehicle at about 5:00 a.m. local time (1000 GMT). A message written by the "Sierra Cartel," allegedly a new criminal organization, was left inside the car.

The Mexican police are investigating the possible emergence of the new drug gang that appeared to be responsible for the six killings.

According to local media, Guerrero is a warfare zone between rival cartels including Los Zetas, La Familia Michoacana and Los Beltran Leyva.

Rising violence has disturbed the Mexican authorities recently. Around 25,000 people have been killed in increasing drug violence across Mexico since President Felipe Calderon launched a military crackdown on organized crime three and a half years ago.
