Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called on Russians to vote for the United Russia, the largest party in parliament, in Sunday's parliamentary elections.
"I ask you to come to the polls and vote for United Russia," he said in a pre-recorded national television address.
On Oct. 1, Putin agreed to head the United Russia party list in the forthcoming Dec. 2 elections in the State Duma, the lower house of the parliament.
A total of 14 political parties will run in the elections.
