Some 300 doctors gathered outside the Czech Health Ministry in Prague on Thursday to demonstrate against the planned extension of doctors' work hours.

The organizer, the Doctor's Trade Union, or LOK, disagreed with Health Minister Tomas Julinek's plan to extend doctors' work week by eight hours and called his plan as the introduction of a work Saturday.

Patients also came to the demonstration to support the doctors' demands.

On the same day, Julinek said that he did not aim his proposals against trade unions but believed that they would lead to the improvement of the situation.
