Spain and Libya agreed on Monday to cooperate in fields including fighting terrorism, defense and economy, among others.

Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero met here with visiting Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi and discussed with him on terrorism and other issues.

The two leaders expressed opposition against linking terrorism with any country, culture, or religion. They called for mutual understanding and tolerance among different cultures and religions and urged for more talks on concerned issues.

The two leaders agreed to promote information sharing in anti-terrorism efforts and enhance cooperation in immigration management and combating human trafficking.

Kadhafi arrived here Monday for a two-day visit. This has been his first official visit to Spain.
