Poland supports Azerbaijan "in its policy of moving closer towards the euro Atlantic structures and the EU," President Lech Kaczynski said Tuesday after talks with visiting President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
President Ilham Alijev started on Tuesday a two-day official visit to Poland to discuss energy security, economic projects and closer political cooperation between the two states, according to Polish news agency PAP.
Poland fully recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, Kaczynski told a joint press conference held after the talks. Azerbaijan is Poland's strategic partner, he added.
"Our relations are close and of strategic character," Kaczynski declared. He said he discussed energy issues with his guest, among other topics.
On Wednesday President Ilham Alijev is expected to travel to Gdansk. Source: Xinhua
