The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC)announced here on Wednesday that Artemis Ignatou will be the choreographer of the Lighting Ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games which will be held on March 24, 2008 in Ancient Olympia.

HOC Press Officer Tassos Papachristou said that Ignatiou has been assistant choreographer of Maria Horss, who retired a few months ago after a very long and successful career.

Ignatiou has been also a priestess at numerous Olympic flame lighting ceremonies fro winter and summer Olympics since 1988.

Ignatiou has been the choreographer of the Olympic torch lighting ceremony for the Turin 2006 Winter Games.

She has been the choreographer of about 20 theater plays and operas, while she has worked for Greece's National Opera, "Karolos Koon" Art Theater, Athens Concert hall "Megaron Mousikis", etc.
