Armenian President Robert Kocharian congratulated Dmitry Medvedev Monday on his victory in Russia's presidential election, Russian news agencies reported.
"Armenia highly appreciates the partnership relations between the two countries and their strategic cooperation in all directions," the Armenian leader said in a message.
Kocharian said he is confident that the peoples of the two countries will strengthen "fraternal ties and partnership and expand cooperation."
"I would like to mark with satisfaction your major personal contribution to the development of Armenian-Russian relations, as well as express confidence that in the office of Russian president you will contribute to deepening and expanding them," Kocharian said.
Medvedev, 42, won Sunday's vote with a landslide to become the country's youngest ever president-elect.
