The military representatives from Finland, Estonia and Russia Wednesday met in Finnish capital of Helsinki to discuss the use of airspace over the Gulf of Finland, Finnish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The narrow international airspace over the Gulf of Finland is heavily trafficked. The air forces of the three parties try to find technical and operational means for the advance prevention of airspace violations, said the statement.
The representatives agreed on the commitment of each country to certain joint goals and their practical implementation.
They also emphasized the importance of information exchange and collaboration in order to ensure the safety of military and civilian air traffic, said the statement.
The meeting was a continuation of talks held between the three countries late last year.
