Russia condemns the terrorist act in Jerusalem which killed eight people on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said on Friday.
"We do not see a justification of it, and we do not accept it," Kamynin was quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency as saying.
"We confirm the right of Israel and of any other state to protect the life, security and well-being of its citizens. At the same time it is apparent that innocent civilians must not suffer from the struggle against terrorism," he said.
"It is necessary to do everything that is possible for preventing all extremists and terrorists from derailing the already difficultly going negotiation process. Only it can lead to the establishment of long-term, fair and comprehensive peace between the Palestinians and Israelis in the Middle East in the interests of all people living there without exception," Kamynin said.
