Spain's ruling Socialists are set to win Sunday's parliamentary elections, official results show.
With over 62 percent of the ballots counted, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) led by Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero won 44.74 percent of the vote against 39.34 percent for its rival, the conservative Popular Party.
The PSOE's lead has been consistently maintained since the outset of the ballot counting.
With the current standing, the PSOE will get 170 seats in the 350-member lower house of parliament and the PP 151 seats.
The PSOE and the PP won 164 and 148 seats respectively in 2004 elections.
