The world's largest dog show "Crufts" honored on Sunday night a dog the "Friends for Life" award, to highlight amazing friendship between dogs and their owners.

Harriet Ringsell and her Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, Yepa, was the sole winner from altogether five candidates to get the award at the Birmingham National Exhibition Center at the closing night of the 4-day event.

Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 11 months of age, Harriet's Friendship with Yepa has opened up a whole new world of opportunities, including training Yepa and making friends within the breed despite her disabilities.

"I can't believe it," she murmured when she and Yepa was announced the winner. "He (the dog) is the best thing in the world," she said in sobs.

The award was a result of public vote after BBC2 (British Broadcasting Corporation) broadcast the tales of courage and companionship throughout the 4-day event.

The BBC2 Show follows five stories of friendship in adversity where dogs have truly earned the title of man's best friend. Nominated as a Friend for Life by the people that know them, this is the recognition they deserve for the real difference they have made to their owner's lives, be it through bravery, support or companionship. These dogs have shown unfailing loyalty and spirit in their constant desire to help and are a great example of the incredible difference that dogs can make.

Also on Sunday evening, Philippe, a Giant Schnauzen bitch owned by Mr. and Mrs. K Cullen from East Sussex, was awarded the "Best in Show" title, the highest award in the dog world.
