Croatian Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic will travel to Macedonia on Monday for a two-day visit at the invitation of his Macedonian counterpart Ljubisa Georgievski, the Croatian news agency HINA reported on Sunday.
Bebic will be received by Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and members of the Macedonian Croats Union, said the reports.
Bebic's talks with Macedonia's highest officials will focus on bilateral relations and the continuation of cooperation in the NATO and European Union accession processes.
Croatia, Macedonia and Albania are members of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter which expect to be invited to join NATO at a summit in Bucharest in April.
Following talks with Croatia's Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said Thursday accession talks with Croatia, which began in October 2005, will be finished by the end of next year, opening the way for Croatia to join the EU in 2010.
Macedonia is lagging behind Croatia on its path to the EU membership, having yet to start the accession talks with the European Union.
