Moldova's parliament Monday voted in favor of the new cabinet led by Prime Minister Zinaida Grecianii, according to the official Moldpres news agency.
The new cabinet received 56 votes in favor in the 101-seat parliament, 4 votes more than the required threshold.
Grecianii, the first woman prime minister in Moldova, was designated by President Vladimir Voronin to form the new government soon after her predecessor, Vasile Tarlev, resigned on March 19.
Grecianii's cabinet is composed of 21 members, most of them kept their positions in Tarlev' ruling. Igor Dodon holds the posts of first deputy prime minister and economics and trade minister. Another two deputy prime ministers are Victor Stepaniuc and Andrei Stratan, who is also foreign and European integration minister.
Born in 1956, Grecianii graduated from the Chisinau-based Financial and Economic College and the Moldovan State University, specializing in economics. Since 1994, she has held diverse responsible posts at the Finance Ministry. In 2005, she was appointed to the post of deputy prime minister.
